Terms of Service

Last updated: July 20, 2026

These terms govern your use of ChipLogs (“the Service”). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to them.

1. What the Service is — and is not

ChipLogs is a bookkeeping tool: it records information you enter about private, social home card games (who played, buy-ins, cash-outs, expenses, tips).

The Service is not a gambling service. It does not:

  • host, deal, or operate any game;
  • process, hold, or transfer money or anything of value;
  • take or facilitate wagers, or match players with games.

2. Your responsibility for legal compliance

Gambling laws vary widely by country, state, and city. You are solely responsible for ensuring that any game you record — and how it is run, including any fees, tips, or payments connected to it — complies with the laws of your jurisdiction. The Service is a record-keeping tool only; using it does not make any activity lawful, and nothing in the Service or its terminology constitutes legal advice.

3. Prohibited uses

You may not use the Service:

  • to operate or support an unlawful gambling business;
  • to record games you know are illegal where they take place;
  • to collect debts through threats, harassment, or other unlawful means;
  • to store information about people without a lawful basis to do so;
  • to interfere with the Service or attempt to access other clubs’ data.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

4. Accounts

You must be at least 18 years old. Keep your credentials secure; you are responsible for activity under your account. Club owners control their club’s records and who can access them.

5. Your data

You own the data you enter. We use it only to provide the Service, as described in our Privacy Policy. You can request export or deletion of your data at any time.

6. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that records are accurate (they reflect what users enter), that the Service will be uninterrupted, or that stored data can never be lost — keep your own records of anything important.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for disputes between players, arising from use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim (or $50 if you paid nothing).

8. Termination

You may stop using the Service and request account deletion at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these terms, with notice where practical.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms; for material changes we will notify account holders by email before they take effect. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [YOUR STATE — fill in before launch], without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
