Privacy Policy

Chip Logs (“we”, “us”) is a record-keeping tool for private, social home card games. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Account information. Your name, email address, and a hashed password — or, if you sign in with Google, the basic profile information Google shares with us. We never see or store your Google password.
- Club records. Information that club owners and members enter about their games: player names and nicknames, session dates and times, buy-ins, cash-outs, expenses, tips, and notes.
- Technical data. Standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) used for security and troubleshooting.
Information entered about other people
Club owners may record other players’ names and game results. If you run a club, you are responsible for having your players’ permission to keep these records. If someone has recorded information about you and you want it corrected or removed, contact us or the club owner.
How we use information
- To provide the service: authentication, storing and displaying your club records.
- To send transactional email only (email verification, password reset, co-host invitations, and house-PIN reset links). No marketing.
- To keep the service secure (rate limiting, abuse prevention).
We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it for any purpose other than running the service.
Cookies
We use only essential cookies — a session cookie that keeps you signed in. We do not use analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies.
Storage and security
Data is stored in a managed database, encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Passwords are stored only as salted hashes. Access to house financial records is restricted to the club owner.
The database provider keeps a point-in-time recovery window, and we take periodic backup copies that are stored separately from it, so records can be restored after an accident. Backups reduce risk but are not a guarantee: you can export your club’s complete ledger to CSV at any time, and we recommend keeping your own copy of anything important.
Sharing
We share data only with the infrastructure providers that host the service (hosting, database, and transactional email providers), and when required by law.
Retention and deletion
We keep your data while your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and its data at any time by emailing ryanma424@gmail.com. We will delete it within 30 days, except records we must keep for legal reasons.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information. Email us and we will honor these requests regardless of jurisdiction.
Age requirement
This service is for adults. You must be at least 18 years old to use Chip Logs.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date above and, for material changes, notify account holders by email.
